HOOK & SOUTHBOROUGH CRICKET CLUB

NAME : The Club shall be called the 'Hook & Southborough Cricket Club'.

THE REGISTERED OFFICE of the Club is the Deckers Sports and Social Club, Kingston Road, Tolworth, KT5 9NT.

OBJECTS : The objects of the Club are to provide for members facilities for playing cricket and social activities connected therewith.

COLOURS : The colours of the Club are Green, Red, Dark Blue and Gold.

MEMBERS : every candidate whether playing or non-playing shall be proposed by an existing member and such election shall be at the discretion of the Executive Committee. On election, the applicant's name shall be entered into the Club's membership register. All members shall be entitled to one vote.

HONORARY MEMBERS : The Club at a General Meeting may elect Honorary Members for a period of one year. Honorary Members shall pay no subscription but they shall be entitled to all the privileges and benefits of membership.

TEMPORARY MEMBERS : Shall be members of visiting teams, officials, umpires etc., duly elected under Rule 5 for the day of the match only and shall pay no subscription.

SUBSCRIPTIONS : Playing members, junior members including Colts and non-playing members shall pay such subscription and match fees as shall be decided in General Meeting. New members elected during the course of the season shall pay such subscription as the Executive Committee shall determine. The subscription of existing members shall become due on 1 May of each year and that of new members on the date of their election.

SUSPENSION OR TERMINATION OF MEMBERSHIP : If any member's subscription is one month in arrears, membership, at the discretion of the Executive Committee, shall cease until such arrears are paid. Any member of the Club guilty of ungentlemanly conduct or infringing any Rules of the Club may be suspended at the discretion of the Executive Committee, which Executive Committee shall have the power to request any member to resign or to terminate membership, but for this purpose a majority of two-thirds of the Executive Committee present at the meeting shall be necessary. Any member may resign membership by giving the secretary notice in writing to that effect.

FORFEITURE OF RIGHTS : Any person on ceasing to be a member of the Club shall forfeit all rights to and claims upon the Club, its property and funds.

RULES : A copy of the Rules shall be posted in the Club's premises. Each member shall be bound by them and any bye-laws in all respects. No Rule shall be added to, altered, suspended or rescinded except by a two-thirds majority at a General Meeting. A copy of the proposed amendments must be circulated with the Notice convening the Meeting.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING : The Annual General Meeting shall be held in November. Members shall be given at least 14 days notice of the meeting and with such notice shall be sent the Agenda, Statement of Accounts for the year ending the preceding 30 September and the Executive Committee's Report. The Executive Committee shall fix the date and the time of the Annual General Meeting which shall include the following business : a. To approve the Executive Committee's Report and Statement of Accounts. b. To elect a President, Vice Presidents and Honorary Members. c. To elect the Officers of the Club, namely the Chairman of the Executive Committee, Captains and Vice-Captains, the Hon. Secretary, the Hon. Treasurer, the Hon. Fixture Secretary, the Hon. Team Secretary and the League Representative. d. To appoint an auditor. e. To elect Chairmen of Sub-Committees responsible for Ground Maintenance, Bar, Clubhouse, Fund Raising and Colts, each of whom shall be able to appoint members on an ex-officio basis to form their own sub-committee and such other Sub-Committee(s) as the Executive Committee may decide. Each sub-committee Chairman shall sit on the Club's Executive Committee. f. To elect, from the Club's members, four persons to act as Members of the Hook and Kingston Sports Association (HKSA).

COMMITTEE : The Executive Committee shall normally meet on the second Monday of each month. Five Executive Committee members shall form a quorum. The Executive Committee shall have the power to make such arrangements for the internal and general management of the Club as they deem necessary and advisable subject to compliance with the Rules of the Club. The Executive Committee shall consist of the Chairman, the President, the Hon. Secretary, the Hon. Treasurer, the Hon. Fixture Secretary, the Team Secretary, the League Representative and the Chairmen of the following sub-committees : Ground Maintenance, Bar, Clubhouse, Fund Raising and Colts and other such sub-committees as the Executive Committee shall deem necessary. Any member of the Club may attend a meeting of the Executive Committee on an ex-officio basis.

SPECIAL GENERAL MEETINGS : A Special General Meeting shall be called upon the receipt by the Hon. Secretary of a requisition signed by not less than ten members, such requisition to contain a statement of the business to be considered. A Special General Meeting may also be called when deemed necessary by the Executive Committee. Members shall be given not less than seven days notice of such a meeting together with details of the business to be considered. At the Annual General Meeting and at any General Meeting, sixteen members shall form a quorum.

RESOLUTIONS : Any members desirous of moving any Resolution affecting the Rules shall give notice thereof in writing to the Hon. Secretary before 15 October and the Hon. Secretary shall cause such Resolution to be incorporated in the Agenda of the General Meeting.

HONORARIA : The Club shall award the following honoraria annually : Ramsey-Kirby Award : Highest individual innings Paul Taylor Award for 1st XI Batting } Qualification ; best batting average Simon Judd Award for 2nd XI Batting } with a minimum of six completed Martin Samuel Award for 3rd XI Batting } innings Maude Savin Award for 1st XI Bowling } Most wickets Jim Wilson Award for 2nd XI Bowling } taken Rock Financial Consultants Award for 3rd XI Bowling } Richard Gould Award for Club Member of the Year Robbie Robinson Award for the Most Improved Young Cricketer.

REGULATIONS AND BYE-LAWS : The Executive Committee shall have the power to make, repeal and amend such Regulations and Bye-Laws (not inconsistent with these Rules) as they may think expedient for regulating the conduct and affairs of the Club. Such Regulations and Bye-Laws shall be posted in some conspicuous part of the Club premises and shall be binding on all members.

VISITORS : Subject to such Regulations and Bye-Laws as may from time to time be made by the Executive Committee, each member shall have the privilege of introducing a visitor, but this visitor may not be introduced more frequently that the Regulations and Bye-Laws for the time permit. No visitor shall order or purchase any intoxicants.

PERMITTED HOURS Etc. : a. The bar and the sale of intoxicating liquor shall be under the control of the Executive Committee but intoxicants shall only be supplied to members on weekdays between the hours of 11 a.m. and 11 p.m. and on Sundays and Bank Holidays between the hours of 12 noon and 11 p.m. or for such shorter periods between these hours as the Executive Committee may decide. b. No intoxicants shall be served to any person under the age of 18 years. No person under the age of 18 years shall be permitted behind the bar. c. The Club shall not be used for any unlawful purpose. d. Members may purchase intoxicants for 'off' consumption but they must be removed from the premises only by a member during the permitted licensing hours detailed above. e. No intoxicants shall be consumed outside of the confines of the Club's premises.
